Granger Plastics helped SG Burial Platform overcome declining product quality by restoring damaged molds previously recommended for replacement. Its tooling restoration and custom rotational molding expertise improved the quality and consistency of the company’s burial platform and urn pedestal.
Middletown, Ohio, United States, October 22, 2026 /MarketersMEDIA/ -- SG Burial Platform LLC has returned damaged production molds to service following an extensive restoration project by Granger Plastics Company in Middletown, Ohio. The molds, previously recommended for replacement, now produce the company’s burial platform and urn pedestal, with founder Stephen J. Sabo Jr. reporting improved product quality and consistency.
Stephen J. Sabo Jr. established SG Burial Platform LLC in 2014 after decades working as a funeral director, developing equipment to address gravesite preparation and presentation.
Drawing on his firsthand experience, Sabo developed the SG Burial Platform as an alternative to traditional arrangements of wooden planks and graveside greens. The polyethylene platform incorporates tapered edges, a non-skid surface and a custom lid designed to help keep water and debris from entering the vault at a pre-dug grave.
The SG Urn Pedestal provides a dedicated surface for urn services at cemeteries, funeral homes and churches. Both products were developed to address practical preparation needs and the presentation of interment sites.

At a critical point in the company’s growth, SG encountered manufacturing difficulties. According to Sabo, finished product quality had declined, and he was advised that the existing production molds could no longer produce acceptable products and needed replacement.
Seeking another evaluation, he turned to Granger Plastics Company in Middletown, Ohio.
Granger examined the molds and undertook months of repairs to restore them for production. The work addressed damaged parting lines where mold sections meet, kiss-off features, mold surface finish and broken supporting framework.
Following the tooling repairs and transfer of production to Granger, Sabo reported substantial improvements in the quality and consistency of SG’s finished products.
“After several conversations with Granger Plastics in Middletown, Ohio, I decided to move our molds to their facility for production,” said Sabo.
Granger now provides custom rotational molding for both products using the restored tooling at its Middletown facility.
