Stamford, United States - January 28, 2020 /PressCable/ —

Real estate tokenization industry is having a great start this year, as more properties are moving to the Ethereum blockchain. A fintech startup REINNO announced the successful tokenization of REI Capital Growth – a fund operated by REI.

The Offering

REI Capital Growth (REICG) will use tokenization to offer both equity and debt for their new real estate fund, which will build upon their existing $30 million dollar portfolio. The REICG fund features a new business model for investing in U.S. commercial real estate available for both U.S. and international investors. It includes two simultaneous security token offerings (STO). One $40 million equity offering and a $65 million bond (debt) offering.

REICG security tokens are digital financial securities, backed by the tangible, cash-flowing, U.S. commercial real estate, fully compliant with KYC/AML requirements, and all SEC and IRS regulations. These tokens can be sold on secondary markets at the end of the holding period (40 days for debt and one year for equity).

“I have been in the real estate business for over 36 years. It is exciting to see the industry evolve and use innovative technologies, such as blockchain, to create new opportunities” said Alan Blair, the managing principal of REI – a real estate investment, advisory, brokerage and management company. “Tokenization allows us to reach international investors and offer them exceptional investment opportunities in American commercial real estate. We are now able to deliver flexible, paperless assets and the highest standards of excellence to investors worldwide.”

Transforming Commercial Real Estate

Commercial real estate in the US is a profitable and sought-after investment asset. Investors are attracted to its stability, steady income flow, portfolio diversification, and inflation hedging. However, real estate is notorious for its lack of liquidity. It takes a lot of time, money and paperwork to complete a real estate transaction, convert a property into cash or vice versa.

When asked about their unique business model, REINNO Co-founder Barry Moniês who brought in and negotiated the REICG deal stated, “REINNO is solving the real estate illiquidity problem by offering not only tokenization services but also loans backed by tokenized real estate. Tokenization, also known as digital shares, enables fast fractional ownership, and instant loans against those tokens allow investors to tap into the value of their assets easier and faster than current methods.”

With REINNO real estate lending, token owners can decide on the size of loan collateral by depositing tokens and receive money almost instantly. Then, as they pay back the loan, they regain equity equivalent to the principal they paid against the loan. It turns real estate into a flexible investment instrument, helping investors gain control and leverage over their assets.

“Tokenizing REI Capital Growth brings us one step closer to creating an ecosystem where commercial properties are liquid while real estate transactions are paperless, instant and efficient,” said Viktor Viktorov, the CEO of REINNO. “We already provide real estate tokenization and lending services; soon we are launching a new functionality which makes investing in tokenized real estate easily accessible.”

REI Capital Growth is the first real estate fund tokenized by REINNO. The company has more projects in the pipeline, including both individual buildings and portfolios.

Oturu scores 30 as Minnesota beats No. 19 Michigan 75-67

Feb 26, 2020

MINNEAPOLIS — Daniel Oturu shook off an injury and had a career game to help Minnesota take down another ranked opponent. Oturu scored a career-high 30 points and the Gophers went on a late 11-0 run to beat No. 19 Michigan 75-67 on Sunday. The sophomore center had 20 points in a dominant first half, and he continued his roll with six quick points after the break. But with 14:35 remaining, he hit the deck hard while fighting for a rebound. He stayed on the floor for nearly five minutes, clutching his left shoulder as a hush fell over the...

Bey scores 33, leads No. 16 Villanova past Georgetown 80-66

Feb 26, 2020

PHILADELPHIA — Saddiq Bey hit eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 33 points to lead No. 16 Villanova to an 80-66 win over Georgetown on Saturday. Bey, a 6-foot-8 sophomore forward, hadn't been much of a 3-pointer shooter this season for the Wildcats (12-3, 3-1 Big East). He'd made only 21 and four of those came in a nonconference game against Ohio. He shot just 3-for-10 overall in a win this week at Creighton, hardly a sign he was about to bust out with a career game against the Hoyas (11-6, 1-3). Left open, and determined to shoot, Bey had...

Former UConn coach Jim Calhoun earns 900th career win

Feb 26, 2020

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Jim Calhoun’s 900th win looked like so many others during a Hall of Fame coaching career. He stomped. He screamed. He slammed objects. The only real difference is the sideline he now controls. The longtime Connecticut coach added another milestone Friday night when the University of Saint Joseph beat Pratt Institute 105-61. Now in his second season coaching in Division III, Calhoun joined Mike Krzyzewski, Jim Boeheim and Bob Knight — all former rivals and national champions at college basketball’s highest level — as the only coaches to coach at least 10 seasons in Division I...

BOSTON — David Pastrnak had a hat trick to extend his point streak to 12 games and Jake DeBrusk added two goals, including the go-ahead score in the third period, to help the Boston Bruins hold off the Winnipeg Jets 5-4 on Thursday night. It was Pastrnak's third hat trick this season and eighth of his career. He has nine goals and 10 assists during his current point streak, and his 35 goals overall lead the NHL. Kyle Connor, Andrew Copp, Neal Pionk and Mark Scheifele had goals for the Jets. Nikolaj Ehlers added a pair of assists. Jets goaltender...

Cowboys to introduce McCarthy as club's 9th coach Wednesday

Feb 26, 2020

FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys will introduce Mike McCarthy as the ninth coach in franchise history Wednesday. The club made the announcement Tuesday, a day after McCarthy reached agreement on a deal to replace Jason Garrett. It's the second coaching stop for the 56-year-old McCarthy, who won a Super Bowl and went to the playoffs nine times in 12-plus seasons with Green Bay. The Packers won the title at the home of the Cowboys nine years ago. They went to the NFC championship game four times under McCarthy, who is 125-77-2 in the regular season and 10-8 in the...
